Re: Megiddo

Still slumped on the tree, HaVoK is now concious and feeing good. He is still glowing from the fight with Rose, and anthough there is Blood all over him (not his, but the other angels as his blood has extreme healing qualities or destructive qualities) he gets up, and limps over to the people standing aimlessly now Rose has gone.
''Damn....i can't walk''

He looks up to the sky, and then, with a face that looks like it's bearing much pain, sprints to the tree he had been lying on, runs slightly up it's side, and then makes a gracefull jump into the air.

''so i guess i shouldn't use my legs'' he calls to the others from the air.

''Before my confrontation with Gale, i learned about the key. I don't know where it is, but i know someone who does. He was alive last i saw him, battered and bruised but breathing. I suggest we find him, before Gale does, if he has not already''

ReyKas 05-07-2004 11:55 AM

Re: Megiddo

Wessen overhears HaVoK, just as he is sure the Angel and Hallon did. He looks at the Angel inquisitively.

Listen.. I know I said I wouldn't ask you the location of it. I don't really have any interest in getting ahold of it myself. But if you have it.. I mean that's what this is about, right? If you have it, then Hallon is right and you need to let US deal with Gale. ..and you need to leave.

Hallon nods in agreement.

Hallon: "We all know you cannot run from him forever.. but it wouldn't be wise to bring it directly within his grasp. I beseech you to run.. at least give us a CHANCE to defeat him. These people stand a fighting chance, whether you believe that or not."

The Angel closes its eyes in contemplation.

Angel: "You speak sooth. But alas, I am injured.."

Hallon: "Perhaps one of our party could carry the burden for you."

The Angel nods.

Angel: "The appearance of the guardian of the key to Hades is a compelling reason to believe that you mean well.. though I wonder still if there could be treachery within your group. Deceit is easily conceiled amidst a crowd."

Hallon nods

Hallon: "Remain here. I will return to the others and discuss the matter with them discreately. That way you are not brought out into the open where Gale can find you."

He turns to Wes.

Hallon: "Stay with him until I return or send word."

___

Hallon runs back to the group to consult with them. As he runs back into the clearing he motions for them all to draw in close. He wispers to them the news.

Hallon: "They key is found.. and thankfully not by Gale."

Re: Megiddo

Rose hangs back, not really wanting to distrupt Gale in the middle of a battle with Nyx, but knowing that not telling him would be worse. As it is, she barely speaks above a whisper. "I failed...if I had stayed, I would have been killed. But they do not know what happened with the key, Master."

One had been standing there, amused by Rose's fighting tactics when he heard Hallon come back. "You what?? You found it. . ?? Where?"

((I'm going to allow Rey to control Hallon for this chapter, if it's ok with him. I'm pleased with how he's handling the Heaven Key situation. I'll take control again if I need to push the story in a certain direction, but right now I like how it's working out and I'm going to leave it to you as far as getting the key for now. ;) ))

Lara crosses her arms. "Yes, do tell us where it is."

ReyKas 05-07-2004 11:15 PM

Re: Megiddo

((I take it upon myself with great honor and all that stuff.))

Hallon turns to One.

Hallon: "An old aquaintance of mine has it.. my counterpart as it were. Sachiel, the guardian of the Heaven Key. Whereas with me it was a calling to guard the key to Hell, for this particular Seraph it was more of a chore. A duty he got stuck with. A fact that I must humbly admit is that any of these Angels is most likely my better. They didn't need the greatest of Angels to keep it safe, so they thought. The Angels are higher than man so they guard the key to Heaven and men are closer to the earth so they guard the key to Hell.. it seemed only appropriate."

Hallon looks around to see all eyes on him. Apparently camping out below a farm alone for so long had made him a lonely rambler. He makes sure to get to the point.

Hallon: "He is nearby and he is wounded by Gale's hand. Gale must be preoccupied or else Sachiel would already be dead. Slade is with him right now. Sachiel seems reluctant to cooperate with our group. He fears that there may be some allied with Gale among us. We've counselled him to flee from here. So the question is, where should the key be taken and who should go with Sachiel to take it? Whoever remains must do battle with Gale to either stall him here or end him here."

Hallon awaits reaction from the group.

Re: Megiddo

A grin spreads across her face, she was liking this idea. "I'll stay back and hold him off."

Gale 05-07-2004 11:47 PM

Re: Megiddo

Lara raises an eyebrow. "Alone? Someone's confident. Regardless, if we hold off Gale and he retreats, he could still reach who ever is with 'Sachiel' before any of us. Seeing as he pretty much single-handedly anhilated an entire base of Angels, you're chances during that time are a long shot. You're only advantage is that Abbis can't pin-point soul auras from to long of a distance. Afterwards, we're going to have to meet up somewhere. I suggest Estecia. If Gale loses here but escapes, that's the only place he'll have to go."

Ayn 05-07-2004 11:51 PM

Re: Megiddo

"Who said I was going to stay here alone?" Her tone is one of annoyance. "I might be a little kid compared to you time-wise, but I think I know when to go alone and when to ask for help." She shakes her head. "That's not important, anyway. I'll stay here with whoever else decides to."

HaVoK 05-08-2004 07:10 AM

Re: Megiddo

''I too will stay. Today i faught with Gale, and lost by his dis honour. He stabbed me whilst i was tending to a fallen angel, and i want to get some back.''

HaVoK, still glowing gold, looks at Ayn...

''I watched him wipe out my people. Alone i stand, one of the last Angels on the planet, and now i will take equal to what has been taken. We will take him''

Da_#1_Link 05-08-2004 09:38 AM

Re: Megiddo

One looks at Havok. "You think it's that easy, don't you? You're underestimating Gale. You think if you had caught him before he tried to cut you, you would have won? He killed all of these Angels, do you think YOU'RE any different?" One trails off, still not sure if he should stay or not.

Wolf 05-08-2004 10:18 AM

Re: Megiddo

Rikali shifts her wings, having made her decision. "I'll stay. Any chance to confront Gale is a chance well taken."

Riki bites her lip. "I think I will go...Something tells me now is not the time for me to fight Gale."

((having multiple characters rock. ^_^ I can be a part of everything.))

HaVoK 05-08-2004 11:01 AM

Re: Megiddo

HaVoK turns to One...

''No...the reason i stand a chance over the others is because I DON'T underestimate Gale. I AM different from these folk...''

he looks at the bodies around him

''These angels faught in the AA wars...I faught three ages before that. I faught in the war of The fallen race, And the ongoing war of the spiritual dimension. I led the great army of the west, and commanded the high Angels of the north. I am more then these angels in ability and experiance...They have not seen Evils that i have...and what's more''

HaVoK looks back at One

''I am prepared''

He shines brighter then he has done before, as bright as the noon sun.

Re: Megiddo

Hayate has been taking a quick look around the area, and returns not looking too happy.

I belive I should go. I don't feel that I could be of assistance here. Most of the things I could throw at him probably wouldn't do much presently, and I'd rather make sure that this key is safe.

He sighs and takes a final look around the city. There wasn't much of a chance of him putting together enough Holy energy for a decent shot here. Rather ironic, really.
Plus, he was still unsure about the whole business in general.

He notes that One is looking a little uncertain, and that doesn't help his mood much. Still never hurts to try.

One, if I were to comment, I would feel that you would be the person most capable of holding Gale off. After all, you've seen what he can do first hand. But, that also makes you one of the best chances we have of keeping this key safe.

He shrugs and makes his way over to the Hummer

I'm not sure if that helps, but hey.

Wolf 05-08-2004 11:59 AM

Re: Megiddo

Riki eyes Hayate and seems to be more sure of her decision. She walks over to the Hummer. "At least you can rest assured that the key will be safe."

ReyKas 05-08-2004 01:04 PM

Re: Megiddo

Hallon nods at the responses.

Hallon: "I believe only a few ought to go with Sachiel. They need to stay fast, and the more people they have with them the harder that becomes. Besides which, if we don't keep a respectible force here we won't stand a chance against the Abbis.

I must also stay.. the key to Hell is my commission, not the key to Heaven. Even if I die here, it will be by me trying to recover it."

Wes emerges into the clearing alone and waves.

Hi folks. I led our Angel friend over to the Hummers where he now waits for whoever decides to go with him. Make sure to leave plenty of room for him in the truck. He's injured and he's got those.. big wings. Kinda hard to accomodate.

Hallon: "You're staying here too then?"

Yeah, it'd be best to keep that part of the group in one vehicle.. and I'm not leaving my bike.

___

Sachiel stands by the Humvees and stretches out his wings one at a time. The span of each is about twice his height and he has no room between the vehicles to extend them both at once. Flexing them sent pain coursing into his body, but he tried his best to ignore it. He was gifted with fast healing and he hoped that it wouldn't take long.

"And I pray that these people are as good as the faith I'm placing in them, and that they can keep me safe until I am better."

Sachiel pulls his long, mostly straight two-edged sword about two inches out of its scabbard.. just enough to see it's unearthly golden glow before putting it back.

"I will not fail in the duty that I have been given."

He looks up to see Riki and Hayate approaching. He places his right fist over the opposing shoulder in a salute.. something rarely done for terestrial beings.

Sachiel: "Greetings. I am Sachiel."

Janus 05-08-2004 02:04 PM

Re: Megiddo

Hayate nods at the angel in return to the salute.

And a good day to you. I'm Hayate, this is Riki and we're going to be your bodyguards for the forseeable future. Which, admittedly could be only a matter of minuites, but let's not debate semantics.

Hayate seems to have perked up slightly. Perhaps it's the new feeling of superiority over a true angel? Whatever it is, he's feeling rather bucked-up, several letters from his usual mood.

He stretches and yawns before continuing

Something tells me that this is going to be an interesting little jaunt at least.

Fury Three 05-08-2004 02:21 PM

Re: Megiddo

Nyx tightens the grip on his sword. "I really wish you would DIE!" In a single, fluid moement, he lowers his head and rushes forward. In doing so, he charges around Gale and under his arm, tearing the sword all the way through and out his side as he goes.

Gale 05-08-2004 02:47 PM

Re: Megiddo

Gale screams in pain. The Abbis sneers, Nyx was stronger than he had anticipated. Gale was confident in his abilities to contend with Nyx and any other opponent he might face. However, fighting him would give his enemies more than enough time to find the key and leave. It was time to change tactics. Gale backflipped off the top of the ruined building and starts propelling himself off of walks and towers, moving quickly toward the area that he saw an Angel crash earlier. "I don't have time to play games with you!"
__
Lara shrugs. "I'll go with the others, meet us at Estecia. I fought Gale and lost. I'd be of no use here."

ReyKas 05-08-2004 03:57 PM

Re: Megiddo

Sachiel nods.
Sachiel: "I greatly hope that it is not interesting in the least. The future would be best served if it's the most boring time we ever have."

Sachiel sees Lara approaching from behind the other two.

Sachiel: "A third? I hope that is all.. your beast seems to have limited passenger space. And it's not exactly designed around Seraphim of any shape."

He pulls in his wings as tightly as he can and climbs into the Humvee. It's probably the most awkward an Angel has ever looked before.

___

Okay, so I'm glad that's settled. Now if it's okay with everyone, what says we come up with a scenario for when Gale and/or Rose shows up again? It might not unfold right, but I say we need to as much Advantage over Gale as possible.

Wessen begins setting up a small bipod next to the entrance to the alley down which he found Sachiel.

Like my brother-in-law, my plan is simple. But unlike my brother-in-law, my plan actually might work.

He points to the inside walls of the clearing on either side of the entrance.

Anyone with projectile attacks can come from these two points. I'll take this side.

Wes attaches a longer a barrel to turn his sawed-off looking gun into more of a cannon-like arrangement as he speaks.

Fury or someone could set up at that side. Now assuming Gale saw where Sachiel fell, since he undoubtedly send him on his pluge, he will be going there as soon as he can. If he does come back at us, it'll probably be via this route. You all can draw him out once you see him coming down the alley. Perhap an energy attack of some sort to goad him out here?

Fury and I can fire at him from here once he comes out enough that we are behind him. Our fire should either force him your direction for a conjoint close-up assault on him, or it may even cause him to turn and face us, giving you an even better opportunity to do him some damage.

Hallon, you can be the watchdog for Gale coming from a different direction or in case Rose decides to join back in.

Sorry to go all elaborate on you guys, but I'm a mere mortal human. I needs me as much of a tactical advantage as possible, given that I don't have fancy supernatural powers like y'all do.

Wes strokes his chin.

Of course if he doesn't come from that direction, we're screwed. But it's better to maybe be screwed than to definitely be screwed, methinks.

Re: Megiddo

One nods to Hayate as he is walking away. He turns back to Havok. "Are you suggesting that I underestimate Gale? I know him better than any of you here. I've seen him fight, I've fought with him. I've trained with him. We grew up together and know a little about each others secrets." He turns to the other people that decided to stay. "I will do as Hayate suggested, and stay."

Fury Three 05-08-2004 05:17 PM

Re: Megiddo

The plan was sound enough, given their situation. Fury nods to Wessen and hefts his own weapon. Its magazine is empty, so he lets it drop free and kicks it out of sight behind the wall where he'd be waiting. With a sharp click, the rifle accepts a fresh magazine and Fury takes up position on the other side of the entrance. "Don't suppose you came up with an exit plan too, did you?"

***

Compulsively, Nyx jumps onto a rooftop and prepares to give chase, but quickly finds Gale is faster than him and already too far ahead. An angry growl escapes his lungs and he smashes the center of the roof's peak with his sword.

Buildings throughtout the city begin to explode into rubble as Gale rips through anything between him and what could possibly be the last Angel left in Capital. It wouldn't be long until he reached his enemies, which he didn't actually realize were waiting for him.

Rikali shoves her doubts to the back of her mind and vaults into the air. She flaps hard a couple times and slowly lifts up. Circling once to mark her friends' posistions, she lands on top of a half-demolished building and lays down, hiding most of her body.

As the Humvee takes of, Sachiel supresses a groan. He wasn't prepared for how slow it would be in comparison to his own flight. "At least," he thinks to himself, "My enemy won't be expecting me to be in a man-made vehicle."

He looks behind to see the dust from new explosions rising from the city as they leave it at their backs.

"Gale must be busy."

Janus 05-09-2004 01:02 PM

Re: Megiddo

Hayate looks back at the palls of smoke rising from the city and shrugs

Better them than us. That lot are possibly the most likely to stop Gale.
I realise I was mistaken in beliveing Ayn should join us here. After all, if Gale kills her he will fail in his goal.

Which leads me to a second point. What matters is the prevention of the enemy acheiving his goals, no? For that, I ask you one question, Angel. What would happen if the key were destroyed?

Wolf 05-09-2004 01:20 PM

Re: Megiddo

Riki turns in her seat, interested in the conversation. "Can the key even be destroyed?"

Re: Megiddo

Sachiel is silent for a moment. "The idea was brought up, but almost all the calculated results were disasterous. Therefore, no one knows, nor wants to find out."
__
Gale continues to tear throw buildings in his trip through the city. He suddenly stops. He sensed the auras of his enemies nearby. He smiles, it wouldn't take much for him to fight them off, as he was sure they knew where the Angel was. After seeing what had happened to Capital, what hope could they have of winning. Gale speeds towards them, but unfortunately, he falls right into their trap.
((Feel free to attack now ^_^))

One sees Gale from far off, he charges up and as Gale passes by, on begins to shoot basketball-sized energy balls his way, and to the structures around him, hoping something will fall or hit him off course.

Re: Megiddo

Rikali exhales her deadly lightning breath, aiming, like One, for the buildings around Gale instead of Gale himself. She dives off the side of the building, exhaling bolt after bolt of lightning at Gale and the surroundings.

Rose follows behind Gale and sees the attacks. She weakly calls out a warning to him and increases her pained efforts to catch up.

Fury Three 05-09-2004 02:40 PM

Re: Megiddo

As Gale crosses into the clearing, Fury takes aim and waits until the Abbis has passed him enough to get a shot at his back. Starbursts of flame flicker out from the assault rifle's barrel and deliver a streaming hail of supersonic lead towards Gale.

ReyKas 05-09-2004 03:49 PM

Re: Megiddo

Wessen smiles brightly as gale passes into the clearing. Rubble falls around Gale as a result of One and Rikali's attacks, causing him to linger in one place for a moment while avoiding the debris. "Perfect."

Slade places the bead of his gun in line with Gale's back and squeezes the trigger. With a loud pop, a huge steel bullet races toward Gale and slams into him just after a volley of bullets from Fury's weapon strikes him. The tapered tip drills into his back right before it explodes. Gale is thrown foreward, right within reach of some of the others.

Turn around, Gale.. Wessen wispers. Pay attention to me..

Wes fires at Gale again, this time at his feet so that if the attack is dodged, it won't harm the others.

**

Meanwhile, Hallon watches as Gale passes by, followed by ranged attacks by the others. He keeps his eyes on the sky for any sign of rose. As he scans the area he senses an extraneous presence at the mouth of the alley. He turns to see Rose standing there. She seems to kind of slump, weary at the very thought of having to fight the group again. She then stands up straighter than ever and seems ready to do what she must for her master. ..Hallon knew that feeling. And he knew it could be dangerous.

He rushes toward her, using his sword to kind of pole-vault over Wessen's line of fire. The movement takes away more of his breath than he anticipated. "I'm getting old.."

A moment later he is at Rose's side and takes a mighty swing at her midsection.

Wolf 05-09-2004 03:56 PM

Re: Megiddo

"****." Rose leaps back, ignoring the flare of pain. "Who the hell are you? You're not one of the New Myria fools." She holds Fate ready in her hand, not looking forward to having another battle. "He fits the description Gale gave you about that Gaurdian...what if he is it? Gale would certainly praise you if you killed him. You would redeem yourself for your failure. Forget your pain, fight like your Master!" The thought runs swiftly through Rose's head.

She takes another step back and cracks her neck. The pain was forgotten, the blood disregarded. She would battle until Hallon was dead, for redemption in her master's eyes.

As Hallon recovers from the sword swing, she charges forward with Fate and slashes at his legs.

ReyKas 05-09-2004 04:07 PM

Re: Megiddo

Hallon backflips to avoid the slash. His typical cheesy guardian-like move.. but effective nontheless.

You are serving the wrong master. Are you suicidal?

He takes a few more steps back, as he doesn't want to get trapped in the alleyway. He must stay out here where he has allies.. and where he can serve as an added distraction to Gale.

By choosing his side you must either die now or die when he acheives his goal. Do you think he loves you?

He holds up his hand and fires a burst of magic energy from his palm that knocks her back, but doesn't really hurt her.

Let me guess, he's your lover? Your father-figure maybe? What reason do you have to please him?

He holds up his sword at shoulder level with his free arm resting atop his sword-arm, opened and ready to attack her with his guardian energies.

((I'm afraid my posting is going to be cut down. I'm going through some very personal issues right now that are more important than RPing. I'll be posting, but possibly not as much. I apologize.))

Gale screams at the surpise attack. Not so much in pain then as in rage. He couldn't believe they were clever enough to set a trap for him, and that he fell right into it. With a howl of anger he explodes into the air, out of the rage of his attackers. He than rockets downward and hits the ground, created a large shockwaves and explosion that levels the remains of the nearby buildings. Rage flares in his eyes and he speaks in a highly venemous tone. "You will pay dearly for that!"

ReyKas 05-09-2004 06:55 PM

Re: Megiddo

((S'alright man. We all know that life comes before RPGing.))

Wessen's heartbeat grows faster as Gale's anger becomes apparent. As he slams into the ground and creates the shockwave, Wes picks up his gear and heads for the shelter of the alleyway and runs past Hallon and Rose on the way. Taking a quick moment to be strategic, he turns and fires one of his giant explosive steel bullets at Rose, hoping to knock her into the incoming ripple of concrete and stone, if not killing her with the bullet itself. A moment later he ducks into the Alleyway, avoiding the brunt of the shockwave, but still being severely buffeted about.

I'm in trouble.

Hallon is thrown toward the wall by the shockwave but manages to lunge off of it with his feat, rebounding the direction he came from. He does a rolling landing and leaps back to his feet to see a furious Abbis standing at the center of the impact.
